My previous post was about getting my feet wet in low-sec and escaping some nasty situations. Okay, maybe not nasty for a veteran player, but for a newbie like me, it was escaping jaws itself.
So I’ve been continuing my, what I like to call, absolute clueless and no goal what so ever roaming in low-sec.
I always use the statistic overview setting ‘Show number of ships killed in the last hour’ when viewing the star map, and I noticed a huge red circle over a particular star system. Over 900 ships destroyed in the last hour. Holy fook batman … did the Death Star warp into New Eden?
You know the feeling you have when you know doing something is a bad bad idea, but you also know you’re going to do it anyway? Yeah … that feeling.
So I set destination to that system, and took off. I had to see what was going on there, and maybe, just maybe, I would get lucky, and not get killed in the process. Easier said than done, because the destination system lied deep within low-sec territory, and I had to make a lot of jumps through several other low-sec areas (0.4 – 0.3).
Screw it I said, its almost been 14 days, and I still have all my rookie tutorial starter ships left. That ain’t right dude!
Well, I never made it to the star system mentioned above. At one point, I was chased by a band of Bosnian pirates, then later I accidently went in a factional warfare system, which had a lot of people and unfortunately also a bunch of pirates from the same corp wrecking pretty much everything in their path.
Then I came across a huge (25 lol) number of ships that were escorting a big ass freighter or something. Must have been important because they didn’t like me warping right on top of them at the gate. The only thing that saved me was the fact I was in my trusty Atron T1 newb freighter. It seems not everyone is a killing spree pirate in New Eden, that is good to know.
So in the end, I didn’t get to kill anything, which is not a surprise tbh. Nor did I get to ninja-loot anything. BUT, I have learned so much the last two days. I learned how to align proper, I learned how to make safepoints in order to get away fast, I learned about the directional scan, which is probably one of the most important things in New Eden.
So now … patience … learning … patience … ISK … patience …
